Michael Palmisano brought his alter ego Neil Diamond to the Park Ridge Country Club last Saturday at a fundraiser in support of the Park Ridge Civic Orchestra. The luncheon was held to raise donations for the Orchestra, which is dedicated to the presentation of music, to the interest in the performing arts and to service to the community.
Fans of the Orchestra who saw Palmisano were presented with Diamond’s more popular songs including Sweet Caroline, Cracklin’ Rosie, Cherry Cherry, Song Sung Blue and Forever In Blue Jeans.
Park Ridge Civic Orchestra Board President Pam Benitez said, “The food was delicious, the music was exciting! Events like this are so important to the Orchestra. Not only is it an instrumental part of how we raise money to continue bringing music to the community, but it gives us the chance to interact with our patrons.”
The Park Ridge Civic Orchestra will present An Irish Christmas on December 9 at 3 p.m. at Maine East High School featuring singer Kathy Cowan, The Mullane Godley Irish Dancers, Kathleen Keane on fiddle and whistle, Tony Karcz on bagpipes and tenor Martin Hughes.
