Here is the latest from Konrad Kowal, 2015 winner of the PRCO - Rotary International Educational Scholarship: "Over the summer, I was at the Bowdoin Music Festival in Brunswick, ME and I had lessons with Ilya and Olga Kaler while also performing the first movement of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto and the first movement of the Borodin String Quartet No. 2 in D Major, and taking part in multiple masterclasses. I was selected as one of two freshmen to the top orchestra at DePaul, the DePaul Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Cliff Colnot. I will be taking lessons from Dr. Olga Kaler during my first year of undergraduate study."
Also forthcoming for Konrad is his recital where he'll be playing the breathtaking music of Mozart, Bach, Wieniawski, and Grieg. The recital is free and open to the public at Edison Park Lutheran Church in Chicago. The church is well known for its fine acoustics and is a perfect setting for chamber music.
