Continuing our season-long look at Romance, our Holiday Concert includes Tchaikovsky's sweeping Romeo and Juliet Overture, known the world over for its famous love theme.

And then we venture to some modern fun, An Orkney Wedding, with Sunrise, a delightfully vivid portrayal of a traditional wedding replete with mischievousness on the Isle of Orkney off the coast of Scotland. You'll have to hear it to believe it.

Starlight Express brings some of Elgar's happiest music to the stage; this is fantasy music that takes flight and builds right up to its ending quote of a magnificent Christmas Carol. Which one? Well we won't tell . . .

About the Soloists:

Jessye Wright performs throughout the United States and Europe in both opera and concert repertoire. A past national semi-finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions, Miss Wright is admired for her rich, colorful voice as well as her musicianship and striking stage presence.

Larry Adams, singer-actor, has performed many starring roles in musical theater productions through- out the Chicagoland area. He recently made his Lyric Opera of Chicago debut in the Merry Widow. Mr. Adams has also appeared on Broadway and in the national tour of Phantom of the Opera.
